BIO
Ellen spent the first seventeen years of her life in the same town, on the same street, in the same house, in North Palm Beach, Florida. Although her interest in art began when she was very little, her intensive education in visual art began at the Alexander W. Dreyfoos School of the Arts in West Palm Beach, Florida. Springing from her humble high school beginnings, Ellen went to Boston, Massachusetts to attend the Art Institute of Boston at Lesley University. There, she expanded her visual vocabulary and nourished an interest in art history, illustration, bookmaking, and comics. Her favorite thing in the world is her Isabey squirrel-hair watercolor brush, series 6234.
Ellen participated in the College Art Association’s 2006 conference in Boston, where her work was shown in a regional undergraduate art exhibit. She has also published comics in issues 1, 2, and 4 of the Art Institute of Boston’s Sketch Report, and is building a client list, which includes Harvard University. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from the Art Institute of Boston in May 2007 with a BFA in Illustration and a minor in Art History.
Ellen now lives in East Boston, Massachusetts with her boyfriend, Matt. The two dream of one day having a puppy. |
